Chase Young Possible reasons of change.

Okay everyone knows I love Chase Young as a villain over all. And we know I have not hidden my annoyment with the newer Chase Young. While thinking it over I tried to figure out why Chase became the way he now is.

First reason. His voice actor. Jason Marsden had a kinda cool, and wise kind of voice that one could expect from a guy who doesn't truly lose his temper often. Maybe once or twice to snap at people to get them in line. But truly that voice has the more calculating way about them.(Showdown) His current voice actor is David Kaye, whom I think does a couple other voices already. So the care to go into a voice is not all there. The voice of Chase here is more cocky and easier to yell while sounding annoyed and pissy. Which suits more for the quicker temper guy who loses his cool.

Second reason. Lines. What he says has changed. Instead of speaking in his cool lines of honor bound which seem to give him an air of being wise beyond his years. He now uses words like "Doohickey." that is so not him. Even though he did have moments in the most recent chase episode where he spoke like himself.  Which was "much to my Shagrin." that part only did he sound like himself and the end where he spoke about omi being honorable and then disappeared into the smoke.

Third reason and the most likely is due to the fact that Chase's character is so hard to write as a often villain. As fans wanted to see more of their beloved Chase he was made the main villain of the new series. However He didn't show many flaws that the monks could think of taking advantage of.  Chase's oringal character's weaknesses were his honorable nature (even though evil), His addiction to luxury, His dependence to his soup, He was a bit too confident, narrow minded when focused on something (like turning omi evil), a bit of a control freak, and he was easily annoyed by people like Jack. (Yeah you could so annoy that chase to death). As a kid show a character is hard to write to fail a lot as the main villain would as Chase didn't seem he would fail that much, as when he did fail he still won something in showdown.

the current Chase has so many weaknesses. He is less than honorable since it takes more thoughts to figure out how to be an honorable villain than dishonor. He doesn't care about loyalty when in his pervious self did.  If showdown Chase met Chronicles Chase he would beat him up for having Shadow so wild under his control. He loses his temper a lot more as seen by his yelling. He feels he has to explain himself, like when Shadow caught him with his egg. Before he would have been blunt about it. He lost his elegance and eats gross foods now ugh so he can easily be poisoned when before he was so careful with his food, and treated his body as a temple. He now has more power but uses them poorly, like turning Jack into a rat. His Narrow mindedness went from when he was focused on something to every day. And now he has laid and egg making him into a goofball who is over protective and irrational. not that this chance was very rational compared to his past self.

However Chase from showdown while he has many flaws, he is a bit harder to skirt around and accept he has lost compared to the Chase from Chronicles. Which is the main reason why I think his character changed so much.

I wonder what they will be doing with his egg thing. As it stands that egg has effectly taken him out of main villain running for the show. Or will the egg be a monster? A dragon? Will the egg look like OMi? As he did leave one tidbit that ensured us we will see more of him, as he told Omi he was related something every fan has been yelling since Chase showed his intense interest in Omi and never followed though with his threats. Merely playing the role of evil daddy. And if Chase is related to Omi who is Omi's mother and why does Omi look so much like Dashi. Are Omi and ping pong related. Oh so many questions with one phrase that we scarcely heard.

What do you think?
